Retinology Institute was formed to manage macular, retinal and vitreous diseases. At our friendly practice in Glen Iris, Melbourne, we have state-of-the-art equipment to facilitate accurate diagnosis and optimal treatment. An emphasis is placed on combining clear communication and caring administrative staff to reduce the stress of living with potentially blinding retinal disorders. Patients are generally referred by GPs, optometrists and ophthalmologists, but also attend following recommendations from patients or family. Learn more

A/Prof Wilson Heriot
A/Prof Heriot is internationally recognised for his clinical insight, surgical expertise and clinical research aimed at improving outcomes. He believes that the best of clinical care is never static, as there are always improvements being made in medicine. A/Prof Heriot also believes that as all patients have unique features, a major part of offering the best clinical care involves the assessment of which of the current treatment options is best suited for each particular patient.
Our current knowledge stands of the shoulders of clinicians and scientists who expanded our knowledge about diseases and new treatments. We have a need, and an obligation, to continue that exploration for current and future patients. This exploration ranges from participation in international treatment trials evaluating new therapies (such as drugs or laser), to laboratory-based projects. At Retinology Institute, blending current and new treatments offers the highest level of care for patients suffering from a wide range of retinal diseases.
