All new referrals (including new patients or existing patients who have not been seen by our specialists in over 18 months) will be triaged by our clinical tram and practitioners.
Please submit the following information via mail, email, fax or via our referral page:
- Referral
- Clinical imaging (OCTs, Colour Fundus Photos, Angiograms etc.)
- Relevant diagnostic results (MRI reports, pathology reports etc.)
- Relevant Medical and ocular history
Our clinical team and practitioners will assess the information submitted and advise on a suitable appointment time. Our administration team will contact the patient directly to arrange the appointment.
Please note, if you utilise the Heidelberg Spectralis OCT machine, we would prefer clinical imaging to be sent via E2E rather than PDF. Specifically fluorescein angiograms for Central Serous Chorioretinopathy. If you require assistance to export the E2E, please contact our rooms on (03) 8823 9000 and speak with our clinical team.
Please call Retinology Institute directly on (03) 8823 9000 for all urgent referrals. Mail, email or fax can be used for non-urgent referrals.
When you call our rooms, our receptionists will endeavour to book your patient in with one of our specialists as soon as practical. If an appointment is not available, or if our consulting rooms are closed, we advise you to direct your patient to the Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital (RVEEH) Emergency Department. Patients seen at the RVEEH can return to Retinology Institute for follow-up appointments.
